BA-2573 Major General Md Abdul Quadir was born in May 1960 in Mymensingh district. He was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers in Bangladesh Army in the year of 1981. He is a graduate from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in civil Engineering. He has undergone number of courses both at home and abroad. Notable ones are “Maintenance Ribbon Bridge, T-71A” in China, “Contract Compliance and Monitoring of project” in USA and “Control of Project Delivery” in Italy. He has successfully completed the Post Graduate Diploma on “Development Planning” from Academy for Planning and Development (APD) under Ministry of Planning, Bangladesh.

Major General Md Abdul Quadir served in different Command, Staff and other important appointments. He served as GSO-2 (Coord) in E in C’s Br. He Commanded 6 Engineer Battalion, 41 Rifle Battalion, 22 Rifle Battalion and 27 Rifle Battalion. He was Garrison Engineer in Rangpur Cantonment and Commander MES (Army) Savar. He served as Director Works at Works Directorate, E in C’s Br. He was Director of Works & Chief Engineer (DW & CE) of Bangladesh Army. He served as Engineer Advisor at Ministry of Defence and Chief Engineer in Dhaka City Corporation. Before joining here, he was the Commandant of Bangladesh Ordnance Factories (BOF) in Gazipur.

Major General Md Abdul Quadir attended many seminars both at home and abroad. He is a widely traveled person and traveled a number of countries in Europe, Asia, Africa,  Australia and America continents. He is a keen golfer. He has written a Book on Engineering named “Shundor Barir Shohoj Prokousol“.

He is married to Mrs Suraiya Quadir and they are blessed with two sons Upal Mohammad Towfiqul Quadir and Talal Md Tahsinul Quadir. His hobbies are travelling,  reading nobles and playing golf.
